Job Description:
As an a Senior Resident in Microbiology at [Institution/Hospital] plays a pivotal role in the clinical and academic activities within the Department of Microbiology.
This position combines advanced training in diagnostic microbiology, research, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.
Perform and supervise diagnostic procedures in clinical microbiology, including specimen processing, culture interpretation, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and molecular diagnostics.
Provide expert consultation to healthcare teams on the selection and interpretation of microbiological tests, antimicrobial therapy, infection control practices, and patient management.
Educate medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals in principles of microbiology, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic methodologies through lectures, case discussions, and hands-on training.
Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and guidelines related to microbiological testing, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention and control.
Maintain proficiency in laboratory accreditation requirements, safety protocols, and emerging trends in clinical microbiology.
