Job Description:
The Senior Resident in Ophthalmology plays a critical role in the clinical and educational activities within the Department of Ophthalmology at Medical Colleges.
This position provides advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ophthalmic conditions while contributing to the academic mission of the department.
Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care to patients under supervision, including performing detailed eye examinations, diagnosing conditions, and formulating treatment plans.
Participate in surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, corneal transplantation, and other specialized interventions as per training level and institutional guidelines.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and medical records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Maintain current knowledge of developments in ophthalmic practice, including new techniques, technologies, and treatment modalities.
Pursue opportunities for continuing medical education (CME), attend conferences, and participate in specialized training programs to enhance clinical skills and professional growth.
Demonstrate commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives within the department and healthcare system.
